Mayor Hodges Highlights Past Successes, Focuses On Equity and Growth In First Mayoral Forum

Hodges discusses the importance of a tested, progressive leader in these uncertain times

Minneapolis, MN –  Today, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges participated in the first mayoral forum of 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church in Ward 10.

“During the time of Trump, our city needs a tested, progressive leader to protect the gains we’ve made, and ensure we continue to grow the city equitably. This is the first of many similar conversations about who’s best qualified to do just that. I look forward to continuing to highlight the work we’ve done during my time as mayor,” Mayor Hodges said. “Together we can build on my promises toward equity, growth, and running the city well while standing up to Trump, the Republican-led Congress, and state legislature coming after cities.”

During the forum, hosted by Council Member Lisa Bender, Hodges highlighted her experiences and accomplishments in a variety of areas including housing, transportation, public safety, and workforce protections.

Mayor Hodges’ performance further proved her commitment to making Minneapolis a prosperous, vital, and safe community for all residents, especially during a time where cities and values are being attacked by a Republican-led state legislature, Congress, and a Donald Trump administration.
