Minneapolis City Council Member Lisa Bender Endorses Mayor Hodges for Second Term
Minneapolis, MN – Today, City Council Member Lisa Bender announced her endorsement of Mayor Betsy Hodges’ campaign.
“I support Mayor Hodges because she is the proven and strong progressive leader our city needs. Betsy governs with integrity, sticking to the values she ran on four years ago and building broader support for change. At a time when the role of cities has expanded to tackle our society’s toughest problems, Mayor Hodges has been consistent, thoughtful and creative in her leadership. In partnership with a more progressive City Council, she will accomplish even more in our next term. I look forward to continuing to work together on the transformational change that will benefit all residents of Minneapolis,” said Council Member Bender.
“City Council Member Lisa Bender has been a great partner in advancing our shared, progressive values throughout Minneapolis,” said Mayor Hodges. “I’m grateful for her endorsement, and look forward to continuing the progressive work we’ve done to make One Minneapolis a more equitable and sustainable place for all residents by advancing the Working Families Agenda, fighting for environmental justice and affordable housing, and by ensuring that everyone is successful regardless of race, place, gender, or income.”
Council Member Bender joins various elected officials including Sen. Al Franken and Council Member John Quincy, along with progressive advocacy organizations SEIU, OutFront Minnesota, and womenwinning in her endorsement.
