“We still have a lot of work to do to make Minneapolis a city that works for all residents, but even through disagreements, Mayor Hodges has listened and brought in community input about tough decisions. Our members did not hear a compelling argument to change the course as we fight to address the issues facing working families in Minneapolis,” said SEIU Minnesota State Council President Jamie Gulley.
Mayor Hodges stands on a strong record of defending immigrant communities across the city. During her first term, Mayor Hodges has invested in various programs for immigrant business owners, family housing, and improving police-community relationships. Hodges has also been a vocal champion against Donald Trump’s anti-immigration and anti-Muslim rhetoric.
Last night, Mayor Hodges outlined the city’s defense against the Trump Administration’s threats to cities and their residents; today, the New York Observer, previously published by President Trump senior advisor Jared Kushner, attacked Mayor Hodges in response.
